METTLE WRESTLING ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM

Wrestlers are encouraged to get involved in our advancement program. There are nine levels that kids can advance through to encourage new goals and enourage them to set the bar high. Click on each level to view the details of how to advance.

Level 1: All wrestlers start at Level 1 and are given a white pair of Mettle Wrestling Socks. Click for Picture
Level 2: Wrestlers must pass off a portion of USA Wrestling Level 1 Curriculum. Click for Picture
LEVEL 2 PASS OFF SHEET
Level 3: Wrestlers must pass off the remaining portion of USA Wrestling Level 1 Curriculum. Click for Picture
LEVEL 3 PASS OFF SHEET
Level 4: Wrestlers must pass off a portion of USA Wrestling Level 2 Curriculum or 3 years in club. Click for Picture
Level 5: Wrestlers must pass off the remaining portion of USA Wrestling Level 2 Curriculum, USA Wrestling State Tournament Placer, Jr. High State Placer, placer in Folkstyle Tour of America or 4 years in club. Click for Picture (Must be an Intermediate or older)
Level 6: Super State Top 3 or Jr. High State Champion. Click for Picture (Must be an intermediate or older)
Level 7: Place top 3 in 2 Folkstyle Tour of America Events, West Regionals Placer or Super State Champion. Click for Picture (Must be a Novice or older)

METTLE WRESTLING STORY

2011-2012 Mettle Wrestling Season Info:

Mini Mettle Wrestling Club (Pre-School-1st Grade)- Mini Mettle will be for pre-school- 1st grade kids that want to get a taste of the sport. Mini Mettle will emphasize fun and teach basic skills to help kids be prepared to enter beginner level competition. Kindergarten and 1st Grade wrestlers are welcome to join Junior Mettle no matter the experience level. Pre-School age wrestlers can apply for permission to practice and compete with Jr. Mettle; however, permission should be granted by either Coach Kelley cole@mettlewrestling.com or Coach Richins shane@mettlewrestling.com.

Junior Mettle Wrestling Club (Grades K-4)- Junior Mettle will be for Kindergarten- 4th grade wrestlers that wish to develop wrestling skills and be prepared for competition. It will be encouraged that these wrestlers compete on weekends at local events. The Utah Youth Super State Tournament will be the pinnical event for these wrestlers.

Competition Mettle Wrestling Club (Grades 5-9)- The competition team will have two workout locations. American Fork High School and Orem High School. These teams will compete in dual meet and tournament settings on a regular basis. Most dual meets will be on Wednesday nights and tournaments on the weekend. Gold Mettle Wrestling Club (Grades 2-9)- AKA Travel Team. This is for kids that plan to compete at a high level. Kids on the Gold Mettle team are not required to travel, but encouraged to travel. Wrestlers must have permission to be on the Gold Mettle team. Please email Coach Kelley cole@mettlewrestling.com or Jeff Newby jeff@mettlewrestling.com for permission to register for the Gold Mettle team.
