Kelley Bio
Coach
Kelley wrestled at Pleasant Grove High School. He was
a Varsity wrestler on the 4A State Champion Team in
1889 and was team Captain his senior year when Pleasant
Grove High School won the 4A State Title in 1991. The
state title in 1991 was the first of a string of 7 state
titles in a row for Pleasant Grove High School.
Coach
Kelley has been coaching wrestling for over 15 years.
He assisted at Orem High School for two years and was
named the Head Wrestling Coach at Orem High School in
1998. He was head coach at Orem for 9 years where his
teams consistently finished in the top 5 in the 5A classification.
At Orem High School, Coach Kelley coached 1 High School
National Champion, 3 All-Americans and 14 individual
state champions. Coach Kelley was voted 5A Coach of
the Year in 2002.
Coach
Kelley stepped down as the head wrestling coach at Orem
High School to finish a masters degree in Educational
Administration. At the completion of his degree, he
was hired at American Fork High School. He assisted
at American Fork High School for a few years and currently
serves as the Athletic Director at AF High. Coach Kelley
decided that it was time to spend his time building
a club in North Utah County that would help feed some
of the best wrestlers in the country for any school
that wants to take advantage of the Mettle Wrestling
Club system. Coach Kelley has ties to several schools
in Utah Valley and wants to see the sport grow in the
county, state and country. |
